Ash is getting into trouble again.
This time, it's on behalf of other kids, mostly. She knows the score, she's been there, done that, got the t-shirt and now she's going in to do battle - again. Ash has to use her experience and knowledge gained over the past few years - half her life - and figure out who she can trust and who really is all about looking after her best interests. The people she and other kids should be able to rely upon to safeguard their interests don't always come up to scratch. Ash's job - whether she chooses to accept it or not - is to weed out the ones with ulterior motives and make sure they don't harm any more kids. Pre order your copy now

Review of Ash and the Faceless Man, by D. Michelle Gent
J C Edwards, 2026
If you’ve been lucky enough to read any of Michelle’s books, you’ll love this one. The second of the series that began with the award-winning Ash and the Favour Man, the book continues Ash’s journey with even more twists and turns that will keep your focus riveted on the pages. She takes your emotions on a fast-paced roller-coaster ride; and at one point I had to stop reading for a minute just to breathe.
Even if you haven’t read the first book (and I absolutely recommend that you do read it), you’ll find yourself drawn to Ash and into her sometimes chaotic world, because the story is so relatable on some level to many of Michelle’s readers. And never underestimate the feisty determination, natural intellect and inventive plotting Ash uses to manoeuvre effortlessly in her environment.
Just when you think it’s safe, never forget that Michelle Gent’s writing is full of surprises. The author’s keen insight into life in general; and Ash’s story in particular, makes Ash and the Faceless Man a great read. I can’t wait for the final installment!
Gail Thomas 2025
Loved this, loved Ash and love her battling on with more people trying to knock her down and she’s always one jump ahead. I think it’s better than the first one.
