REVIEW BY S THOMAS

I am not usually a fan of thrillers, but Chasing Shadows might be the book to change my mind. I couldn't put it down; I found the characters delightfully extravagant but still believable, and I'll be recommending it to everyone I know! Well done John Baird, fantastic debut novel. Can't wait to read more!

A sign of a good book is to want to read it more than once. What? Even a thriller when you know "who done it"?
In the case of Chasing Shadows - YES!
I delighted in this book, the first read with its superbly crafted ending provided even more delight on a second reading. The first was a page turner - hurry hurry to find out who were the goodies, who were the baddies; the second visit was a slow savouring of taste and flavour, the fine port compared to the real ale.

With this book, I think I'd happily go for a third helping.... I so hope John Baird produces a second book soon, he is a natural and talented storyteller and deserves full top marks recognition
